Lately I’ve been playing with my Stampin’ Up! 2-1/2″ Circle Punch… I’m currently working on creating cards for my March Stamp-A-Stack Card Class held in Brick, Ocean County, New Jersey. Monmouth County is two blocks away, so I’m on the north most side of Brick.. But any who… 🙂
While working on designs for my card classes, I was playing around and made these two cards… I haven’t decided what cards I will be using, but I really enjoyed making these..
The first photo below is of some products I used today. I wanted to show you that when I play with my Papillon Potpourri clear mount stamp set which is made up of six (6) beautiful butterflies, I like putting two of the images on one long Stampin’ Up! acrylic block. I ink each one up in a different color, then stamp and punch out using the Elegant Butterfly and the Bitty Butterfly from the 2013 Spring Catalog, which expires May 31.
This technique saves me time, instead of doing putting the clear mount images on an individual acrylic block, stamping two times etc. Cool hu?! Or did you figure that out already? If so KIDDOS to you!!!
I purchased the Kindness Matters stamp set in wood rather than clear mount because there were words in the set. My philosophy regarding word stamps is, once I mount my words on wood, I don’t have to remount them again! As I’m mounting them – I test them out immediately using our Stampin’ Up! Grid Paper. This way I know my words are perfectly straight every time they are used! This makes my class clients happy too!
Now that we have the Bitty Butterfly Punch in the Spring Catalog, I decided I wanted to separate the stamp that has three butterflies together in the Kindess Matters stamp set. Using my Stampin’ Up! Rubber & Crafting scissors, I cut the three butterflies apart and turned them into three clear mount stamps as shown in the photo below.
How did I do that? Read below the photo 🙂
As you can see above, part of Kindness Matters stamp set is wood mount and part is now clear mount.
This is another reason why I love about Stampin’ Up!
All you need to do is purchase Stampin’ Up!’s Clear Mount Cling Foam item no. 124236 and you can change any wood stamp into a clear mount stamp.
This means, I can purchase a wood stamp set that has words, and then convert some of the images into clear mount if I wish.. It’s really that easy, and all about versatility!
Stampin’ Up! also sells Clear Mount Stamp Cases item no. 119105. I’ve converted all of my wood punch stamp sets into clear mount stamp sets. This is when the clear mount stamp case come in handy! They are thinner than the wood mount cases, so it’s great for storage!
All clear mount products can be found in the 2012 IB&C on page 7.
If I lost you at any point, please just leave a comment and I’ll be happy to answer your questions.
Okay… after all the chit-chat… below are the two cards I made today! Thanks for making it this far!
Or did you cheat, and just go straight to the photos? [Big Grin]
